Variety of Sports

Whether you simply want to bet on NFL action or whether you prefer to try out other sports and leagues, you will find yourself well-catered for.

FanDuel offers plenty of betting types and markets across all of the six major North American sports – and, of course, plenty more besides… let’s take a closer look at what sports bets you can make at FanDuel:

NFL Betting

If you’re on this page, reading this review, chances are that the NFL is your sport – as is the case with most sports fans and bettors in North America. FanDuel is all too aware of this and, as such, gives it the respect it deserves. You can find literally thousands of betting markets every week during the regular season.

Moreover, we found the site to be one of the most user-friendly for NFL betting, especially if you’re looking for the main betting options – and the vig rates are also pretty decent. You can also find a number of Same Game parlay betting opportunities as the season progresses.

College Football Betting

Another hugely popular betting option (although not as popular as the NFL obviously) is the college football betting market – and there are lots of betting opportunities for college gridiron fans to look through.

Open up the FanDuel betting site and you will find moneyline bets, totals and spreads for pretty much every Division I game every week. You’ll also find a solid number of player and team props bets – in the states where college sports betting is allowed.

NBA Betting

When the NFL and NCAAF season comes to an end, the focus shifts to the basketball courts. And, if you’re someone that follows the sport, then you will find yourself well catered for.  As well as offering those traditional moneylines, totals and spread bets, you’ll find an excellent selection of team and player props – hundreds for most games to be honest.

FanDuel certainly stands out from the rest for NBA sports betting…

In fact, back in November 2021, the NBA even announced a multi-year expanded partnership, with FanDuel and DraftKings being the co-official betting partners of the NBA.

The updated deal expanded on its pre-existing partnership with the NBA which dates back to 2014. In addition, FanDuel will also become the exclusive presenting partner of the NBABet Show every Monday night on NBA TV. You can then see FanDuel’s NBA betting odds displayed on the NBA.com games page.

College Basketball Betting

Who doesn’t love a bit of betting madness when it’s time for March Madness. And you can go as crazy as you like with FanDuel and its extensive selection of betting markets, for every single game in the NCAA men’s tournament.

But there’s more to it than March Madness. If you like betting on college basketball, you can enjoy some betting action all year round. As well as offseason futures bets there are plenty of regular season and conference tournament moneylines, totals and spread bets.

NHL Betting

Maybe you fancy trying out a bit of hockey betting? Then look no further. Open up the FanDuel app and you will find numerous moneyline, puckline and totals betting options from the very first puck drop of the season to the final whistle of the Stanley Cup – and lots of props markets to boot. You can also enjoy a variety of NHL futures bets as well.

MLB Betting

After a bit of summer sports betting action? Then it’s all about the Major League Basketball bets. If you want to try and make some extra dollars during June and July, FanDuel has everything you could want. There are hundreds of primary and secondary betting markets for practically every single game of the season.

Even during the off-season you can skim through the futures and see what’s on offer.

Other Sports and Leagues

That’s just the start. As well as the popular leagues, there are all different sports you can look through:

  • Aussie Rules
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • MMA
  • Motorsports
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Soccer
  • Table tennis
  • Tennis and more…

Obviously, we love how extensive the sports betting offering is at FanDuel, not just for US sports, but global events. You can bet on all sorts… soccer fans can place wagers on whatever they like – even the Faroe Premier League. There are also lots of lower-league US markets to bet on… and there are certainly enough options to make it stand out amongst other big hitters including DraftKings, BetMGM and Caesars.

In addition, as well as the NBA and NHL, there are basketball and hockey markets from all across the globe. You will be able to enjoy all types of bets for all leagues and markets from anywhere in the world – and if you can’t find it at FanDuel, chances are, you’ll find it difficult to find it anywhere else.

User Experience

One of the reasons FanDuel is so popular within the NA betting industry is the overall user experience it offers. The site runs on the OpenSports engine. The team behind it, at Flutter Entertainment, has plenty of experience in creating a top-end experience, having worked with huge names in the industry including Betfair, Paddy Power and SkyBet etc, so they know what users want – and they can deliver.

It is very easy to navigate the desktop version of the site. The most popular betting markets can be found at the top of the screen but if you’re looking for something else, the rest of the sports and markets are available on the left-hand side menu. There is also a bet slip feature to the right of the screen… although this takes up quite a bit of space.

We also found the search function handy – and it’s great if you’re looking for a certain player or team props bet. That will take you to the game where the player or team will be featured and then you’ll have to search through the bets to find the one you’re after.

Mobile Site and FanDuel App

If you are a fan of betting via app, then you’ll love the FanDuel app, one of the best mobile apps in the US. To date, it has received more than 600,000 reviews, with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 – not bad by anyone’s standards. In fact, it is one of the top-rated apps out there – and that’s not just for sports betting either!

When testing the app, we used it on a variety of different devices – and no matter what device we used, it was always a top-quality experience – from registration to log out and everything in between.

No matter what you need to do, you’ll be able to do it quickly and easily on the FanDuel app. What’s more, you can also enjoy the casino offerings on the same app if you fancy something a little different…

Live and In-Play Betting

One of the most popular ways to bet is live – whilst the game or match is in action – and the live betting section at FanDuel is superb, covering plenty of sporting events.

Most live betting markets will be updated constantly throughout the match – and if you want to watch it play out, you will also be able to stream plenty of sporting events. What’s more, if you want to cut and run, you can cash out your wager early.

FanDuel Casino

Originally, FanDuel was considered to be a DFS – Daily Fantasy Sports site… and you can still enjoy plenty of DFS betting opportunities on the famous betting site. But that’s not all, it offers plenty more besides – racebooks, casino, poker and all sorts.

To date, it has launched an online casino service in numerous states that allow online casinos including Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. That being said, customers aren’t as happy with the casino as the FanDuel sportsbook and usually, if any complaints are made about FanDuel, it’s about the casino. That being said, the complaints are still few and far between, so we wouldn’t worry too much.

Why not try out the racebook? You will be able to bet on all sorts of meetings across the US and other countries? There really is something for all tastes.

FanDuel Bonuses and Promotions

The History of FanDuel

FanDuel was first launched back in 2009, the creation of entrepreneurs Chris Stafford, Rob Jones, Lesley Eccles and Nigel Eccles. Back then, sports betting was illegal in the whole of the US – except Nevada. But that didn’t stop them… as they found their niche within the Daily Fantasy Sports contest market. Nine years later, in May 2018, Irish bookie Paddy Poker Betfair announced that it was looking to acquire the company,

Just as it was getting prepared to make its way in the sports betting market, PAPSA (the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992) was declared by the Supreme Court to be unconstitutional.

After the completion of the Paddy Power FanDuel merger, it opened its first FanDuel sportsbook at Meadowlands Racetrack, New Jersey.

Since then, the company rebranded to Flutter Entertainment and is now the largest online gambling company in the world after having bought The Stars Group.

In November 2021, FanDuel was given the honour of being named Sports Betting Operator of the Year at the International Gaming Intelligence Awards.

Industry Reputation

As you would expect, FanDuel has established a solid reputation in the industry – hence why Flutter Entertainment was so eager to purchase it.

That being said, it comes as quite a surprise that, despite this, it isn’t possible to make huge wagers – as it is at some other sports betting sites. Our research found that  FanDuel has more limitations than other large sports betting sites.

Customer Support

The customer service, in general, is pretty good. We have tested it out on several occasions. In all honesty, there have been a few occasions where it has taken a bit longer to solve issues than we’d have liked – but that is simply because the customer support is always very busy. They are contactable via live chat – although this can take quite some time to answer, as well as email – which takes even longer.

That being said, we found them to be very much within the industry norms – and when we did receive the responses, the customer support crew was both friendly and helpful.

You can contact them as follows:

  • Phone: (646)-930-0860
  • Email: sportsbook@fanduel.com
  • FAQ section
  • Live Chat

Banking Methods

As you would expect, there is a very solid selection of banking options for depositing and withdrawals – giving you plenty of flexibility, although there were no cryptocurrency options, which was the only black mark we could find.

Deposits

We were very impressed with the selection of depositing options when reviewing the site – and they were all instant and come with zero fees. Here are some of the options available to you:

PayPal Min Deposit: $10

Credit/Debit Cards: Min Deposit: $10

FanDuel Prepaid Card: Min Deposit: $10

Online Bank Transfer: Min Deposit: $10

PayNearMe: Min Deposit: $10

ACH/ ECheck: Min Deposit: $10

Check: Min Deposit: $10

The selection of deposit options is excellent – and PayPal is always a very popular option – and our favorite way to pay.

If you do opt for debit and credit cards, then there are practically no restrictions apart from:

  • Bank of America
  • Capital One
  • Huntington Bank
  • TD Bank
  • Union Bank
  • Wells Fargo

If you do have an issue, then PayPal is a great way to get around these issues.

If you opt for the Prepaid card, then, unlike most prepaid cards, it can also be used for withdrawals. You can find your card via MasterCard, Visa and ACH transfer instantly with no fees.

If you prefer to pay with cash, then you can use the PayNearMe option, which is fairly straightforward –

  • Open the PayNearMe deposit method and enter your email or phone number to generate a barcode.
  • Save the barcode to your phone
  • Take the barcode to a CVS, 7-Eleven or Family Dollar and give the cashier the desired money to deposit into your account.
  • The money will be in your account within 15 minutes. You can deposit a maximum of $500 a day or $10,000 a month.

Withdrawals

The withdrawal options available are equally as impressive – and many will see you receiving your cash within 24 hours of processing the request. Here are the current options available to you:

  • PayPal: Timeframe: 24-48 hrs
  • FanDuel Prepaid Card: Timeframe: 3-5 working days
  • ACH/ECheck: Timeframe: 3-5 working days
  • Check: Timeframe: 5-7 working days

If you are looking for the quickest way to withdraw your money, then PayPal is the way to go, usually within 24 to 48 hours of request.

If you do wish to withdraw using the FanDuel Prepaid Card, then you will need to have made at least one previous deposit with the said card in order to use it for payouts. As soon as you have met this condition, withdrawals can be very quick – and, if you’re lucky, you could get your money as soon as 24 to 36 hours later. Any money you do withdraw to your prepaid card can then either be redeposited to your sports betting account or can be withdrawn at an ATM – or used at any place accepting a Discover card.

ACH and E-Checks are a little slower than the above-mentioned options, but it is still a pretty decent option. You can get your e-check transfer sent to your land-based bank as long as you have a valid routing number for your account.  Cashouts are usually approved within 24 hours, but it then takes between 3 to 5 days for the payment to reach your account.

Even slower still are regular checks, which can take as long as 7 days to reach your account after the approval time.

Conclusion: Why Choose FanDuel?

So, why should you make FanDuel your NFL betting site of choice? Well, firstly, it is the biggest sports betting site in the US right now – and it has earned itself a solid reputation in the industry. It offers a very easy-to-use interface, an excellent number of sports and betting markets – and is available in pretty much every state that allows sports betting.

That being said, there’s always room for improvement. It has become a popular name for its Same Game parlays, but those SGPs and odds boosts promotions aren’t quite as generous as players might want to expect. We would also like to see customer service responses speed up a little, although once the queries are answered they are great at dispute resolution.

All in all, whether you’re a new NFL bettor or a more experienced player, you will no doubt find exactly what you are looking for. Not just sports betting, but also its original product – Daily Fantasy Sports. Of course, there’s also the racebook and the casino if you’re looking for a bit of a change.

So, what are you waiting for? Why not check it out today and see why it’s the number-one site in the world?
