NFL Picks Week 8: 49ers Look to Break 2-Game Losing Streak Versus Joe Burrow and the Bengals

After a dream start to the season the San Francisco 49ers have since lost two straight. On Sunday, the Niners hope to bounce back when they host Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Will SF do enough to end the losing streak. Check out NFL odds, analysis, and free picks for all fifteen games on the NFL Week 8 schedule.

Week 8 NFL Picks

Thursday, October 26

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills -8.5

Buffalo has to do something after the stunning loss to the New England Patriots. The Buccaneers have a decent defense and Baker Mayfield has played well, but Tampa’s luck may have turned after losing to the Atlanta Falcons in NFL Week 7. Back the Bills to bounce back with a nice cover victory.

NFL Week 8 Games

Sunday, October 29

Minnesota Vikings -1.5 at Green Bay Packers

The Vikings are an overlay at -1.5. For sure, Green Bay may come up with a scheme to get points on the board since they host their rivals after a bye. However, Green Bay’s issue isn’t on the offensive end. The Packers can’t stop the rush, which means the Vikings will hand the ball off to Cam Akers to open up passing lanes for Kirk Cousins in the secondary.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Minnesota Vikings -1.5

Houston Texans -3 at Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young plays behind a worse offensive line. That’s the fist knock. The second knock is that Carolina’s defense isn’t playing as well as Houston’s. So in a battle between the first two picks in this past April’s NFL Draft, C.J. Stroud beats Young.

Jacksonville Jaguars -2.5 at Pittsburgh Steelers

At home, Pittsburgh is very difficult to beat. The Steelers’ defense has been fantastic. T.J. Watt is, again, a contender for NFL Defensive Player of the year. But we shouldn’t disregard the strides the Jags have made. Jacksonville is on a fantastic streak where the offense is playing unstoppable football. Trevor Lawrence and his mates notch another win and cover.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars

New Orleans Saints at Indianapolis Colts -1.5

The Saints find ways to lose games. There’s no other way to say it. Last Sunday, Jacksonville’s offense dominated New Orleans’ D. So in this game, things could go even more south for the Saints, which have trouble winning games even though they’re always in a position to do so.

With that being written, Derek Carr has thrown for 300 or more yards in 2 straight and in the past decade or so, the New Orleans Saints are the best road team in the NFL. So not having Anthony Richardson could actually hurt the Colts in this one.

In the toughest game to handicap in NFL Week 8, we must go with the road team.

L.A. Rams at Dallas Cowboys -6.5

Without Kyren Williams, the Rams are going to find it difficult to counter the Dallas pass rush. Still, laying 6.5 on the Cowboys is a tough thing to do simply because Dallas tends to play down to their competition and Matthew Stafford can still throw the ball to Cooper Kupp and Puca Nacua. Taking the points makes sense.

NFL Week 8 Pick: L.A. Rams +6.5

New York Jets -3 at New York Giants

This should be a very good game. The Giants’ offense played well against Washington last week in a nice 14-7 win. However, beating the Commanders at home is different than taking down of the better teams in the AFC.

The Jets’ defense was good enough to rough up Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago. The Jets head into this off a bye. So the J-E-T-S should be ready to show their best.

Not only that, but Zach Wilson is getting better and better and the Giants have nobody on their offense that is comparable to Garrett Wilson, Zach’s top target. So the Jets score another win and cover, their fourth of the season.

Philadelphia Eagles -6.5 at Washington Commanders

These two squads are much different than they were in NFL Week 3 when the Commanders pushed the Eagles in an overtime loss. D.C. is a disaster while Philly has hit their stride. Eagles easily cover.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -6.5

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins -9.5

Miami beat New England 24-17 in the first game. The theory is that the Fins should be much better at home. Often, the theory plays out the way NFL betting handicappers would expect.

But in this case, the theory could fall apart. The reason? New England turned the corner in last week’s victory against the Bills.

Not only did Mac Jones throw for  272 yards and throw a couple of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, but he did it versus one of the best defenses, maybe the best, defense in the NFL.

Also, the Patriots are a different team with J.C. Jackson, who they reacquired from the Chargers a couple of weeks ago, at cornerback. The Pats can win this on the ML making Patriots +9.5 the best bet of the week.

Cleveland Browns at Seattle Seahawks -3

Cleveland should have dominated the Colts last Sunday. Instead, the Colts rallied so that the Browns barely won in a 39-38 game. No doubt, Seattle will make life difficult for the Browns from the outset. The Seahawks get the win and cover.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Seattle Seahawks -3

Baltimore Ravens -8.5 at Arizona Cardinals

The Ravens are too quality of a team to allow the Cards to hang around long in this game. Arizona has begun to play the way we, meaning NFL sports bet handicappers, have expected from the outset, losing games by multiple scores.

Lamar and his mates roll. Ravens will have a 10 to 14 points lead by halftime.

Kansas City Chiefs -7.5 at Denver Broncos

Kansas City shouldn’t lose this game. However, the Broncos only lost by 11 in the first matchup and the game was at Arrowhead. Denver is a better team now than they were then. The hook will be the determining factor.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Denver Broncos +7.5

Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers -5.5

San Francisco has to do something. The issue is that the Vikings gave a blueprint for how to beat the SF defense. Make no mistake, Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and the rest of the Bengals will know that blueprint by the time this games kicks off. Bengals cover.

Chicago Bears at L.A. Chargers -8.5

How can anybody have faith in the Los Angeles Chargers? The Bolts are one of the worst coached teams in the NFL. Sorry, but Brandon Staley is terrible. The Bears can win this straight up.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Chicago Bears +8.5

Monday, October 30

Las Vegas Raiders at Detroit Lions -8.5

Detroit allowed the game versus the Ravens to get out of hand. The Lions are much better than they showed in Baltimore’s dominating win. Don’t worry Lions fans. You get to bounce back on Monday against the mediocre franchise known as the Sin City Raiders.

NFL Week 8 Pick: Detroit Lions -8.5
